Production Manager
Our client is seeking a Production Manager to lead production across a high-output exhibit fabrication environment. This role owns the day-to-day execution of the shop, overseeing carpentry, paint, and warehouse functions. You’ll drive alignment between project management and production, ensuring exhibits move from concept to install with consistency, speed, and precision. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands fabrication workflows, show timelines, and the operational discipline required to deliver at a high level.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead daily operations across carpentry, paint, scenic, and shipping/receiving
Align production with project timelines, ensuring builds are completed on schedule and to spec
Partner with Project Managers to plan workload, prioritize jobs, and resolve production challenges
Drive accountability across department leads, setting clear expectations and performance standards
Manage staffing across departments including hiring, training, and performance management
Optimize shop workflow, labor allocation, and throughput to improve efficiency and output
Oversee quality control across all phases of fabrication, finishing, and pre-show readiness
Enforce safety standards and maintain a disciplined, compliant production environment
Monitor budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities to improve margins
Continuously improve processes, systems, and communication across production and operations
REQUIREMENTS
Proven leadership experience in exhibit fabrication, custom build, scenic production, or similar environments
Strong understanding of shop operations including carpentry, paint, and finishing
Track record of delivering complex builds on time and within budget
Experience managing multiple departments and cross-functional teams
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment tied to show schedules\
Strong organizational and communication skills with a hands-on leadership style
Working knowledge of safety standards within fabrication and production environments
Comfortable driving both people and process with a focus on accountability and execution
