Trade Show Operations/Warehouse Manager, Exhibits, Dallas




Our client is a market leader trade show and event marketing industry. They are seeking a success-oriented, motivated, go-getter as their Director of Warehouse/Field Operations. This position revolves around ensuring the exhibiting needs of clients are met and building and maintaining relationships with them

 by working closely with show teams to deliver solutions on time and within budget.

In this position the ideal candidate will responsible for operations management of product orders, negotiations with suppliers, supervision of quality control, after sales service and reporting, and market trends analysis. The operations manager will also manage local scheduling and real-time operations which facilitate the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals. Additionally, the operations manager will direct and coordinate activities of workers engaged in producing, crating, moving, and storing commercial materials and furniture by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Product order management
  • Direct and engage in supplier/vendor pricing and minimum quality standards and negotiations from chosen suppliers
  • After sales service efforts to include product delivery schedules
  • Oversee preparation of periodic reports as required
  • Remain current on market trends with competitors, suppliers
  • Maintain procurement pipelines with alternative vendors to ensure corporate standards are maintained within required margins
  • Contribute to the daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process
  • Maintain good companywide working relationships
  • Oversee all business units in the Warehouse Department (Drapery, M.O.S., Carpentry, Rental Furniture, Fleet, Steel, and Shipping)
  • Plant maintenance
  • Adhering to company safety operations procedures
  • Inspect warehouse facilities and equipment and recommends changes in allocation of space, and crating procedures to supervisor
  • Coordinate asset management and maintenance
  • Purchase moving equipment
  • Evaluate items to be moved to ascertain approximate weights and type of crating required
  • Plan pickup and delivery schedules for drivers
  • Facilitate and coordinate communications with other departments, such as Sales and Project Management
  • Call on potential clients to solicit new business
  • Answer inquiries on types of service offered, rates, schedules, and areas serviced
  • Investigate customer complaints and make adjustments

 

Requirements:

  • BS degree, Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management
  • Minimum of 5 years solid experience as a purchaser
  • Familiarity with the current supplier trends/markets
  • Ability to manage autonomously under minimum direction from the corporate office
  • Leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Reading, analyzing, and interpreting business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Calculating figures and amounts(discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume)
  • Applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Solving practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Order processing, Database software

Location: Dallas

Salary: $90K-$110K DOE
