Director of New Business Development, Events, New York




Our client is an experiential marketing agency. They deliver outstanding service to their clients, creating events, experiences, and brand communication programs. Their team works together to deliver unforgettable experiences. They are seeking a Director of New Business Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities that are aligned with long-term organizational goals. The Director will maintain and grow the agency's business and client base on an ongoing project basis. To be successful in this role the candidate will maintain and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing plans/activities to support sales plans and goals
  • Leverage relationships to initiate and rapidly grow business
  • Establish relationships with senior executives in client companies
  • Ability to understand future trends in the market and leverage the internal capabilities to capitalize on these trends
  • Participate in the preparation of sales, business development, and account specific opportunity plans
  • Responsible for meeting sales targets and for providing input on account forecasts
  • Lead the sales process with a prospect, covering all phases including, qualifying, discovery, RFP, due diligence, demonstrations, proposals, negotiations and closing
  • Drive company's overall revenue, business mix and sales strategy
  • Develop strategic plans/goals; specific activities and action plans
  • Establish business/client targets
  • Create sales processes and procedures
  • manage the proposal process
  • Recruit, select, train, manage and motivate sales professionals
  • Make appropriate sales assignments and develop/manage individual sales goals and plans

 

Requirements (Skills & Experience)

  • MBA or Masters in Business/Marketing Preferred
  • Aptitude for creative business and marketing solutions
  • Minimum of five years successful experience building new business and account management teams in an agency environment
  • Possess strong consultative sales skills using technology and tools
  • Must be highly motivated, with a proven track record of new business acquisitions and expansion of client accounts
  • Ability to manage multiple business initiatives
  • Expert knowledge of all functional agency departments, capabilities, and service areas
  • Understanding of a wide range of industries, markets, and brands
  • Detail-oriented, possessing exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret general business contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently write reports, proposals, and other business correspondence
  • Experience managing budgets, the ability to participate in budget meetings and the ability to discuss and communicate changes that impact the bottom line for the client and company
  • Proactively initiate necessary steps to address problems and make continuous process improvements
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, work ethic, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work within a team and with clients

Location: NewYork

Salary: Salary $125K - $225K
