Our client is a global industry association serving the manufacturing supply chain for the electronics industry including Semiconductors (Device Manufacturers), Equipment, Material and other Service Providers Flexible, Hybrid and Printed Electronics, Micro-ElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS),Sensors, High-Brightness LED,Photovoltaics (PV),Flat Panel Display (FPD), and Related micro- and nano-electronics. Their purpose facilitate the development and growth of the relevant association industries and manufacturing regions by organizing regional trade events (expositions), trade missions, and conferences; by engaging local and national governments and policy makers; through fostering collaboration; by conducting industry research and reporting market data; and by supporting other initiatives that encourage investment, trade, and technology innovation.

They are currently seeking a VP of Global Expositions. The VP of Global Expositions is responsible for developing the strategic direction of the organization's exhibits and events. This individual will drive show strategy from concept to implementation to ensure global operational excellence an financial success. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across the organization to ensure that strategic direction and vision are integrated into each exhibition/event meeting company objectives.

Requirements/Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a close communication with corporate management, regional presidents and global exhibitions teams to develop all exhibition strategic and tactical requirements
  • Provide leadership for exhibitions and events to ensure strategic goals and objectives are communicated, implemented and achieved
  • Facilitate global collaboration and best practices sharing among regional presidents, exhibition teams and the Global Expos team
  • Support professional development of exhibitions staff worldwide through idea sharing, mentoring, identification of useful benchmarks, training programs, global meetings, video conferencing, and other useful communication tools
  • Provide oversight and assistance to ensure that exhibition planning and budgeting processes meet financial, quality and member satisfaction goals
  • Establish and maintain global exhibitions operational policies, procedures and best practices
  • In collaboration Finance Division,develop and implement global exhibition booth pricing policy, including regional oversight of competitive pricing analysis and the year over year pricing structure evaluation
  • Oversight and management of global exhibition sponsorship structure, including standardized primary and co-exhibitor pricing, consistent benefits and member value
  • Compile and deliver analytic reports, budget forecasts and key performance indicator (KPI) metrics
  • Work closely with Marketing to identify global exhibitions marketing collateral requirements
  • Conduct regularly scheduled reviews of all shows to monitor progress and identify areas of support
  • Build and manage relationships with strategic partners and vendors who assist in the development, management and execution of exhibitions and events
  • Lead the RFP process for new vendors to include contract negotiations with identified vendors, as well as reviewing all vendor contracts negotiated
  • Oversight and management of global registration processes, registration demographic forms, onsite services and regional staff
  • Support regional exhibitions teams with online systems support
  • Work closely with regional exhibition teams to create and maintain consistent global exhibition databases that can be integrated into the marketing communications system
  • Oversight and support for onsite space selection (OSS) process, including pre-show, onsite and post-show requirements
  • Oversight of the global exhibitor points accrual system
  • Responsible for contract legal requirements, review and negotiation for all global exhibitions
  • Establish and manage budget based on the organization's annual and quarterly budgeting forecast processes
  • Meet departmental budget goals

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in relevant field
  • Minimum of 15 years of extensive experience in all aspects of international exhibitions and events management, including strategic and tactical planning, budgeting, relationship building, venue and vendor contract negotiations, sales, marketing, logistics and operations, registration systems, database management, hotel contracts, and conference program development
  • Ability to integrate company “Big Picture” strategies and direction into exhibitions and events show strategic plans
  • Experience in overall budget (P&L) development and management
  • Must be able to work well with international cross-functional divisions involved in exhibition management
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building capabilities
  • Responsiveness to customer inquiries and recommendations
  • Ability to identify strategic business requirements and priorities for company business units and regional show managers and to plan, monitor and measure critical show operations planning and execution processes using quality tools and methodologies

 

Location: California

Salary: $150K-$200K + Bonus
